Welcome to your horse riding adventure!

Heusis Ranch is located in the Khomas Highlands, 50 km west of Namibias capital, Windhoek. The third generation of the family is already on almost 9000 hectares of farmland. Cattle are bred, hunting and wildlife are kept. (www.khomas-highland-hunting.com)

On the ranch we keep many draft horses for cattle work, as well as a few-well trained riding horses. All horses live in the wild in a 1000 hectare camp. Because of this freedom the horses are balanced and relaxed.

Life on Heusis is an adventure. We cordially invite you to take part. The Landscape with its beauty and diversity offers great riding pleasure. The plateau, 1600 m above sea level, is embedded by mountains and crossed by ´dry rivers´ that carry water in the rainy season and fill 6 lakes. At a walk, trot or gallop, you cross wide areas under shady trees and sandy soil. The ground is solid on the plains. The ranch's native game is excellent for viewing from horseback. You may encounter giraffe, zebra, baboon, warthog, sable antelope, nyala, gemsbok, hartebeest, springbok and other antelope, as well as an equally diverse and colorful bird life. The mountains offer wonderful far-reaching views.

Well-trained and sure-footed Quarter Horses and Quarter Bureperde with a stick size of 151-155 cm are available for star rides, sporty rides and trail riding. You can choose between Western and English saddles. Depending on your wishes you will be in the saddle for 2-6 hours a day. On the veranda on our Casanova complex you can enjoy your morning breakfast and light lunch at noon. In the evening there will be dinner after the sundowner drink by the fire . The pool invites you to relax between the outrides. At Casanova you will experience typical Namibian farm life at the highest level.

Getting to Namibia is easy and hassle-free. Numerous airlines fly to Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport daily.
